Distilled from a unique three-malt mash bill of malted barley, wheat, and locally-grown Alpine rye — unusual for a malt whisky — Sole is aged two years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then finished for two more years in Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. The nose radiates bright citrus and warm vanilla, while the palate is layered with soft oak, wild honey, heather, toasted oat, sultana, prune, fig, and baking spice, finishing with a smooth, peppery warmth.
